Consumer Telenumbering

A major energy supplier relies on UKChanges to deliver clean, accurate, TPS screened telephone numbers for up-sell, cross-sell and win-back activities. Using Direct Connect Online (DCO), the customer cleans files to meet the calling teams’ demand for fresh data. Call centre productivity levels are maintained through ‘just in time’ supply of cleaned data and new prospect information, which is also purchased via DCO.

As a leading energy provider, our client uses a range of outbound communications to up-sell, cross-sell and win-back customers.

To maintain call centre productivity and sustain its aggressive assault on the sector, the company relies on UKChanges to deliver regular feeds of clean, accurate contact information for both existing customers and prospects.

Using Direct Connect Online (DCO), our web-based service, the client’s data team cleanses files for future calling activities, checking, verifying and adding telephone numbers to the individual consumer records and screening files against the TPS register to ensure compliance with Government legislation.

DCO allows the customer to run data cleansing tasks on an ‘as demanded’ basis, keeping calling teams supplied with the most up-to-date information by regularly processing smaller files. Capable of adding telephone numbers and TPS flags to 100,000 consumer records in as little as 15 minutes, DCO allows the client to manage data flow and budgets in both peak calling and quiet times.

The customer also uses DCO to purchase new prospect data from the UK Consumer File, making selections online before adding telephone numbers to the records.

All transactions are carried out in a web environment that meets even the most stringent client-side security protocols, saving time, effort and cost for the utility provider while ensuring an ever ready supply of data. Furthermore, on projects where several outsource suppliers are involved in the preparation or use of the data, DCO acts as a conduit, allowing authorised partners of the utility company to upload or collect files.

The key benefits for the client’s data team are the system’s ability to only screen against the services that the user wants to buy; the opportunity to save standard job templates; and flexibility to create ‘contingency pots’ of data that can be quickly cleaned should a sudden demand for more records occur.
